HPP Edsforsen, Sweden

Based on our proposal of hydraulic design, the company Litostroj Power obtained a contract in 2008 for Kaplan turbine rehabilitation with output 6 MW at Edsforsen in Sweden for the company Fortum Generation AB. The goal of the rehabilitation is to increase efficiency and output of the power station through replacement of the original runner with a new one.

The client does not plan model testing so that the parameters of the turbine with runner diameter 3,8 m are guaranteed based on the analysis of computational flow dynamics results (CFD). The rehabilitated turbine parameters will be verified by a field acceptance test.
