HYDRO 2009

On 26 – 28 October, 2009, the 16th annual conference HYDRO 2009 took place in the French city of Lyon. It was a meeting of leading operators, owners, and investors in hydro power with suppliers, consultants, and financial institutions, which are active in this segment of power industry.  In addition to these meetings, a conference of ministers of hydro resources of certain African states was held at the end.

At the accompanying trade fair, our company ČKD Blansko Engineering was presented at a booth together with the Litostroj Power Group.
The main objective of the ČKD Blansko Engineering participation in this trade fair was presentation of  our company to new customers, consolidation of relationship with our existing customers, and, last but not least, presentation of our new hydraulic laboratory - the Hydraulic Research Center in Blansko. To achieve this, 35 meetings took place during three days. 
Another objective was to obtain information about potential interest in products and services                of the ČKD Blansko Engineering, especially in the area of hydraulic turbines and bulky pumps for planned irrigation projects. The employees of the ČKD Blansko Engineering, a.s. also  took part               in several discussion panels and presentations concerning modern trends and novelties in applied research of hydraulic turbines.

The conference was attended by delegates from 75 countries. The main topics of the agenda were design improvement and hydro power plant equipment implementation; discussion about climate changes and impact on irrigation project building in Africa; infrastructure design for agricultural area electrification; role of pump storage power plants; and hydraulic machine efficiency regulation and improvement.
