HydroVision 2011 Brazil

Having its hydro power potential, Brazil is a very attractive country for all companies doing business in the field of hydro power. That is why exhibitions and conferences dealing with the themes of construction, operation, and equipment supplies for hydro power plants take place namely in Brazil.

The company ČKD Blansko Engineering, a.s. together with a Brazilian company EnergPower had its presentation at that event this year. In addition to that company, other companies, of which the most important are the Tractebel Engineering and the EnergomashExport, also showed their interest in cooperation on South American markets.

In comparison with the Czech Republic, a maximum limit price has been established for purchase of power generated at wind power stations, which is markedly lower than that of the power from hydro power plants. This political decision has brought about a pressure on the price reduction of power generated at hydro power plants, which resulted in the suspension of certain projects of small hydro power plants,  which have become non-profitable.
